Enjoy Citi Summer Streets on August 5th, 12th and 19th from 7 AM to 1 PM
Fill your August Saturday schedule with walking, playing, biking and exploring the motorless streets of Manhattan from Central Park to the Brooklyn Bridge at Citi Summer Streets. For the first three Saturdays in August, Park Avenue will be car-free and full of activities to enjoy.
Pick up or drop off a Citi Bike in Union Square at one of 12 locations (find them on the map). Don’t have a pass? Enter our summer social media contest using the hashtag #USQSummer and you could win a 24-hour pass. Daily, weekly or monthly passes are also available to purchase at any Citi Bike station with a credit card.
You’ll find activities all along the Citi Summer Streets route, or you can stop and stay a while in Union Square:
Every Saturday the Union Square Greenmarket fills the North and West plaza with farmers, bakers and more selling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as breads, honey, hot sauce and more
At 2 PM, you can enjoy a free walking tour with the historians at Big Onion Walking Tours around Union Square Park. Meet at the Abraham Lincoln Statue on the 16th Street transverse.
After 40 years, Summer in the Square keeps getting bigger and better – thanks in large part to our 2016 community sponsors and partners! We’re going to miss spending our Thursdays in the park with you so while we count down the weeks until Summer 2017, here are our top favorite moments from this past season’s free community programs:
10. Summer in the Square takes free bistro seating up a notch with free live entertainment, courtesy of The New School Jazz students!
9. There was no better way to stretch into our Summer Thursday than with sunrise yoga with New York Health & Racquet Club. Although, we’d argue that Ebony Fowler’s week of Zumba with Bryan could challenge every dance class you’ve been to in NYC.
