33rd Annual Meeting Celebrates USP’s Community Contributions

Executive Director Jennifer Falk presented an overview of USP’s work over the last year.

On Monday, May 15th, USP welcomed neighborhood residents, business and property owners, and other key district stakeholders to our 33rd Annual Meeting + Networking Reception.

Hosted by the W New York – Union Square, Executive Director Jennifer Falk presented an overview of the Partnership’s contributions to the community over the past year and plans for the coming year. She proudly shared that we raised our highest fundraising total to date, $1.5 million in addition to our annual assessment, which allowed us to plant new trees and understory landscaping in the median malls along Union Square East, expand outdoor seating areas with new bistro furniture, and install brighter, energy-efficient lighting to increase park safety. For a full recap of this year’s work, please enjoy the 2017 Annual Report.

“From the exciting developments taking place throughout the area, to the new businesses and incredible restaurants that continue to join our bustling community, the Union Square-14th Street district is thriving. We are proud of the progress we have made over the past year, and we look forward to continuing to further Union Square’s growth in the years to come,” said Falk. In the neighborhood we call home, we are lucky to have the protection and support of multiple NYPD precincts working tirelessly to keep the district safe. At the annual Safe City Safe Street luncheon, along with our partners at Con Edison, NYU, Mount Sinai and Buchbinder & Warren, we were honored to sponsor and recognize NYC Police Department Commissioner O’Neill and the Greenwich Village Chelsea Chamber of Commerce’s “Officer of the Year” honorees from the 6th, 9th, 10th, 13th and Midtown South Precincts, as well as our partners at Transit District 4 for all they do for our community.

We encourage our residents, business owners and visitors to share their thanks with the NYPD, especially as they work over the holiday season to ensure our Continue reading
