Where to Enjoy Public Seating in Union Square Park

Enjoy New Bistro Furniture Daily in Four Public Seating Areas

Spring has officially sprung, and that means public seating in Union Square’s plazas are back. This spring, the Union Square Partnership invested in new furniture for our public seating areas, which are managed daily by our Clean Team.

Hold a morning meeting outside, enjoy your lunch from your favorite #USQEats spot, or bring a book from Barnes & Noble or Strand Bookstore to read. Find a seat in the sun, or find shade under our blue umbrellas.

Broadway Pedestrian Plaza

On Broadway between 17th Street and 18th Street, enjoy a corridor of tables and chairs lined by planters filled with #USQBlooms. Plus, located in the center, get a charge at our solar-powered phone charging station.

Enter the park on the 16th Street Transverse and you’ll find the West Side Seating Area tucked away beneath beautiful park trees. Here is one of the quieter seating areas to enjoy, with chirping birds as the soundtrack. This summer, stop by from 12 – 1:30 PM for Lunchtime Jazz by The New School as part of our Citi Summer in the Square series.
