In honor of the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, the Union Square Partnership and The Pavilion restaurant joined forces to honor local veterans receiving services at the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System at our second annual “Salute Our Veterans” luncheon. To give thanks for the service of the men and women from all branches of the military in attendance, USP and The Pavilion sponsored the luncheon, which included an achievement ceremony for those who best exemplify mental health recovery at the VA’s Mental Health Clinic. “The Union Square Partnership is proud to work with the VA NY Harbor Healthcare System in our area,” said Jennifer Falk, Executive Director of the Union Square Partnership. “As part of our role serving the Union Square-14th Street community, we connect our local business community with key partners in the area and this annual luncheon is a small token of our deep appreciation of the work that the VA does day in and day out to support those who have served our country.”

The luncheon took place at the Manhattan Clubhouse, a recovery-oriented space dedicated to helping veterans socialize, learn new skills, and connect with other vets in order to work towards mental health recovery. Over 80 veterans who demonstrated outstanding progress in furthering their recoveries were acknowledged for their service at the luncheon. The Partnership hopes to continue connecting our local businesses with community organizations. Special thanks to The Pavilion for providing each veteran with healthy boxed lunches. As we all set off for a long Fourth of July weekend, please keep in mind all of the heroic men and women who have served our country!
