Each year, City & State honors 25 women who exhibit exemplary leadership in their fields and have made important civic and public contributions. Lynne P. Brown, Senior Vice President for University Relations and Public Affairs at New York University and Union Square Partnership Board President, was honored at the awards ceremony last week and recognized in the public service category for her leadership in civic organizations and as an advocate for higher education in NYC.  In addition to her 30 years of leadership at NYU, Ms. Brown has served on the Board of Directors of the Union Square Partnership for the past 15 years, and has served at the President since 2011. We want to congratulate Ms. Brown on her many years of service and achievement to NYC and Union Square!

In other women in achievement news, Crain’s New York Business just announced their annual 40 Under 40 list naming Maria Torres-Springer, Commissioner of the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), as an honoree.  SBS is responsible for managing the City’s relationship with the Union Square Partnership and works closely with our organization to ensure that our programs, services and goals are met.
