Banana Republic’s brand new 28,000 SF Flagship store is set to open on lower Fifth Avenue this Friday, March 27th. The store, located at 105 Fifth Avenue at 18th Street, is a consolidation and expansion of their separate men and women stores further north on Fifth. The opening will also debut Creative Director Marissa Webb’s first collection for the brand’s Summer 2015 line. The store’s design was also curated by Webb, and incorporates the brand’s personality through artwork, handwritten wall-art, and specialty items. New items include limited-edition denim hand-painted by the brand’s creative team; an exclusive run of Banana Republic 105 candles, totes and tees; skin care from Damn Handsome and Herbivore Botanicals; home décor from Grain Design, Izola and Young in the Mountains; and leather goods from TM 1985.
The opening of Banana Republic’s new space is the latest update on retail along lower Fifth Avenue. Stores such as H&M, Zara, Coach, Gap, and Express have all undergone renovations recently, and will soon be joined by retailers such as Aritzia, Lululemon Athletica, and Bonobos which are all expected to open in the coming months.
