Assist Those in Need with Volunteer Snow Removal Project

Clean Team - Snow 3
Winter weather has officially arrived in NYC. We would like to give a huge thank you to the Union Square Clean Team who has been working tirelessly to supplement the City’s clearing efforts.  Our team has been spreading ice melt, and clearing snow from crosswalks, catch basins, and around fire hydrants. We have requested that our businesses and property owners remain vigilant and work with us to clear in front of their properties so Union Square remains safe and accessible.

Additionally, the weather makes it difficult for some of our senior citizens living with disabilities to clear their steps and sidewalk space of snow and ice, which could result in accidents. The NYC Service Volunteer Snow Removal Project invites you to participate in this last-resort option for those in need of assistance. If you would to volunteer or have any additional questions or concerns, please contact Michael Williams at mwilliams@cityhall.nyc.gov or by phone at 212.676.3093.  Please join us in our continued effort to make New York City a safer place this season.
