In the midst of the holiday season, New York Times food critic Pete Wells wrote a glowing review of Botequim, the new Brazilian Restaurant in a somewhat hidden location beneath the Hyatt Union Square. Mr. Wells praised the work of Chef Marco Moreira, stating the chef “put considerable care into the recipes.” He goes on to say, “Botequim’s kitchen cooks with far more finesse than the remaining restaurants of Manhattan’s Little Brazil or the outposts of those all-the-grilled-meat-you-can-eat chains that turn up every few years and are never as much fun as they sound.” The restaurant was awarded an impressive two stars from the paper. Check out Botequim at 132 Fourth Avenue, open Tuesday to Saturday for dinner, Saturday for brunch. Happy eating!
