Today marks the first day of the popular Union Square Holiday Market to kick off the holiday season. The Holiday Market is an economic boon for the neighborhood, attracting more than one million visitors from the United States and abroad to not just the 150 participating small business, but also the fine retailers in the surrounding Union Square neighborhood.
In addition to the incredible handmade gifts, original art and other merchandise sold at the market, UrbanSpace has also recruited a few Mad. Sq. Eats and Broadway Bites favorites to dish out warm food and beverages. Park goers and holiday shoppers can treat their taste buds to Sigmund’s, Mighty Balls, Bar Suzette, Wafels & Dinges, Doughnuttery, Taste of Persia and other treats from talented chefs at this year’s market.
The Union Square Holiday Market will operates until Wednesday, December 24th; market hours are 11:00am to 8:00pm Monday through Friday, 10:00am to 8:00pm Saturday, and 11:00am to 7:00pm Sunday. The market is closed on Thanksgiving Day.
