Last week, the New York Times’ Real Estate section had an article devoted to the remarkable improvements in Union Square over the past few years. The neighborhood has always been defined by its central location as a major transit hub area, but over the past decade boasts a greater selection and diversity of retail and amenities. Residents that moved to Union Square in the late 90s have witnessed the improvements. “The neighborhood just kind of kept on changing with me,” resident Victoria Baradi Anderson told the Times. “It kept giving me the things I need.” Investments like the recent $20 million upgrade to Union Square Park’s north end that included an expanded and refurbished playground has helped make the neighborhood a safe, one-of-a-kind destination for families.
