Free pre-kindergarten (pre-K) enrollment is now open. Children born in 2010 who live in New York City are eligible for pre-K programs at public schools and community-based organizations around the city, with the deadline for enrollment on April 23rd.
Early childhood education can have an incredible impact on children both in and out of the classroom, and these programs also have the potential to dramatically reduce poverty and income inequality in NYC.
Eligible families can apply online at www.nyc.gov/schools/prek or by calling (718) 935-2009. Families can also apply in person at the Manhattan Enrollment Office:
333 SEVENTH AVENUE, 12TH FLOOR
388 WEST 125TH STREET, 7TH FLOOR
Enrollment Offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM.
