The Union Square Partnership welcomes two new staff members to our team, Director of Operations Donnie Campbell and Director of Economic Development Kriss Casanova.
Donnie is a twenty year veteran of the New York Police Department, and most recently served as the Interagency Training Coordinator at the City’s Office of Emergency Management, where he worked to develop curriculum and train City personnel in all types of disaster response. When asked what he liked most about working in the neighborhood, Donnie responded, “Union Square embodies the history of NYC, and its renaissance over the past three decades constantly reminds me of what every NYC neighborhood can become with collaborative and focused effort.”
With over a decade of experience, Kriss most recently served as the Director of the citywide Storefront Improvement Program at NYC’s Department of Small Business Services, working with businesses impacted by Hurricane Sandy to improve storefronts and enhance commercial corridors. Prior to that, she was the lead Economic Developer for the City of Culver City, CA, where she created public-private partnerships with the business community to drive development, stimulate commercial activity and improve quality of life. When we asked Kriss what she likes most about Union Square, she told us, “Union Square is such a vibrant neighborhood offering a diverse array of restaurants, flagship retailers, and unique entertainment venues, as well as the City’s best Greenmarket. I can’t get enough of the district’s energy and excitement.”
We are thrilled to have Donnie and Kriss on board and look forward to a great spring and summer, and to continuing to provide a high level of service to the USP community!
