Please be advised that the annual May Day demonstration will be taking place in Union Square Park tomorrow, Thursday, May 1st. Expect traffic delays, as there will be possible street closures from Union Square West to Fourth Avenue and along 14th Street.
Home decor retailer CB2 is asking Pinterest’s 70 million users to help them decorate a Union Square apartment. The chain owned by Crate & Barrel is doing a promotion called APT CB2, in which they have rented an unfurnished apartment at 873 Broadway, just one block up from Union Square Park.

Earth Day New York returns to Union Square Park this year on Tuesday, April 22nd. Educational exhibits, activist groups, children’s activities and green businesses will fill the North Plaza of the park. As we reported in an earlier post, a new protected bicycle lane was proposed for Lafayette Street/Fourth Avenue from Spring Street to 12th Street, and was unanimously approved by Community Board 2. Implementation begins in mid-April.
