Starting this weekend, Summer Streets returns for three consecutive Saturdays. On August 3rd, 10th, and 17th, the Department of Transportation will close Park Avenue to motor vehicles from the Brooklyn Bridge, through Union Square, and all the way up to Central Park (nearly seven miles). The motor-less road will make way for teams of cyclists, pedestrians, and those who are just looking to enjoy a car-free street. There will be food samples, art installations, and even a misting system along the way. While out enjoying your stroll, stop by the Square to check out our free historical walking tour in Union Square Park. The tour meets at 2 PM on Saturdays in front of the Lincoln Statue on the park’s 16th Street transverse (in front of the playground).
