Attention designers! Judy Ross Textiles, located in 41 Union Square West, is having a sample sale starting this Thursday. The sale features 40% – 70% of pillows, rugs, scarves, and fabric by the yard. The sale will last from Thursday, May 2nd to Sunday, May 5th. Entrance to the sale is at 22 East 17th Street between Broadway and 5th Avenue.

W New York – Union Square is currently hosting select prints from an ongoing exhibit entitled “Madonna: Experience A Transformational Exhibition.” At the hotel you can see never-before-seen photographs of Madonna’s 1980s street style shot by world-renowned photographers, Richard Corman and George DuBose. The show is curated by Rock Paper Photos and runs through May 12. You can see other parts of the collection at W Times Square, W New York (on Lexington Avenue), W Downtown and W Hoboken.

Murder Ballad, a “steamy” new musical debuts next month at The Union Square Theatre for a limited 9-week engagement. The new show explores the complications of love, compromise, and the betrayals that can ultimately undo us. Murder Ballad comes to Union Square after enjoying sold-out shows at Manhattan Theatre Club’s The Studio at Stage II. The show features a critically acclaimed cast, including Caissie Levy, John Ellison Conlee, Rebecca Naomi Jones, and Will Swenson. Murder Ballad begins performances on May 7 at the Union Square Theatre on East 17th Street. Get tickets here.
This Sunday, Earth Day will return to Union Square. Besides all the eco-friendly fun, there is also a chance for you to get rid of old clothing and get some flashy new stuff in Union Square at the Earth Day Clothing Swap Party hosted by Closet Dash. This isn’t just any old clothing. Each item will be checked for quality, and once it’s approved, the swapper will receive a ticket for each item to use as currency. “Once someone brought in a Givenchy vintage suit,” Jennifer Lee, founder of Closet Dash, told DNAinfo.
The swap party will be held at 15th Street and Union Square West. Registration begins at 1 p.m. and the swapping begins at 2 p.m. Participants are asked to arrive early for drop-off.
