New signage has gone up announcing the arrival of Union Square’s newest condo building – The Jefferson. The building is being constructed on 211 East 13th Street. The new complex is named for the Jefferson Theatre, which closed in 1977. The site was formerly owned by Milstein properties and was purchased by the Ironstate Development Company and Charles Blaichman Developers. The eight-story building will contain 83 condo units in studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom configurations. One-third of the units will include outdoor space. Amenities available to residents include a 24-hour attended lobby, lounges, a fitness room and library. A landscaped rooftop terrace with outdoor kitchen, trellis and planted seating areas are also planned. In addition to its residential component, the property will include 4,500 sq. ft. of ground-floor retail. The Jefferson was designed by Manhattan-based BKSK Architects with the goal of achieving LEED Silver certification or higher.
