Whether you don’t know what those digital numbers mean on the park’s south side or you’d just like to get more aquainted with the storied history of the City’s most iconic public space for freedom of speech and gathering, you must go on our walking tour. For one thing, it’s free. Secondly, it’s in Union Square Park – immediately adjacent to 11 different subway lines. You really don’t have any excuses left! The tour is every Saturday at 2:00 PM and meets in front of that big statue of Lincoln in front of the playground (on the 16th Street transverse). Since it’s on a Saturday you can swing by the greenmarket or some of our fabulous retailers afterwards. Sounds like a pretty good Saturday to us. You’re welcome.
